Benedict Wells (born 1984 in Munich), né Benedict von Schirach, is a German novelist. A member of the noble Sorbian (West Slavic) Schirach family, he is a son of the author Richard von Schirach, a brother of the author Ariadne von Schirach, and a grandson of the politician Baldur von Schirach. He also has American and English ancestry and descends from two signatories of the United States Declaration of Independence, and from the politician Henry Middleton.
